These simple cameras are the most cost effective but are limited in scope. They allow for deployment in a number of settings where the ability to "look around" or zoom in is not required. They are ideal for fixed points of entry like doors, gates, or hatches, where their fixed field of view is likely to capture relevant data. They can be mounted indoors or out, and some feature wireless capacity, motion-sensing, and other advanced features.

Like the more complex types, these units can plug into the existing Ethernet cabling and may be configured via a web page interface, or connect with a DHCP server, and share their data across the network and VPN.
