Camera Network Structure

IP video systems are "smart" and can be "programmed" with video scan/sweeps, specific alert functions, and variable bit-depth recording levels to maximize their effectiveness.

Depending on the camera, automatic motion sweeps can be preset to cover a large area without human intervention. By defining motion-sensing alerts, the camera can be put into a preset high-resolution record mode, insuring quality for later analysis.

Alert conditions can be tied to access/entry systems, alarms, or pre-programmed time periods. Alerts can be sent through the network to security personnel or via e-mail to anywhere in the world.

After an alert situation, the cameras can automatically return to "normal" mode, which can be set to lower-resolution recording to save bandwidth and storage space. In normal mode, all presets and alert conditions are reset, without the need for human intervention. The camera behaves as programmed until the next alert or manual control is activated.
